ABOUT THE HOME
The Lighthouse Christian Children’s Home is an orphanage built and established by the Lighthouse Chapel International under the leadership of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills in the year 2006.
It began with one child we named Ruth and to date, 36 children have been cared for in this home, which currently has 23 children.
The children not only receive shelter, clothing and food but they are also schooled. All children of school going age numbering up to 15 have been placed in schools. The schooling cost per child is about $140 per month and feeding cost for each child is about $100 per month.
The home is run and managed by Rev. Mrs. Adelaide Heward-Mills the First Lady of the Lighthouse Chapel International. Through different initiatives and self help projects which she has established, the needs of the children are being taking care of.
These include running a snack bar and a restaurant at the Lighthouse Chapel Cathedral Headquarters (The Qodesh) and the formation of “Orphanage Partners” (made up of men and women who have committed themselves to helping take care of the home through their periodic financial contributions across the globe).
On behalf of the children, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and Rev. Mrs. Adelaide Heward-Mills we would like to say a big thank youfor visiting our website and hope you will partner with us to take care of these wonderful children.
We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
